Consumer rue pani puri price hike

 The ever increasing prices of the humble pani-puris, Golgappas or puchkas have started punching a   big hole in the pockets of the lovers of tangy fast food. The panipuri that used to cost 50paise per piece a few years ago has witnessed a steady December upward to 75 paise to regin supreme at Rs 1.50per piece at present. Some of the puchka sellers who have mushroomed not only all over the city of Chennai but also it some place, Charge even higher price of Rs.2 per piece. An unsatisfied 19yr old girl told that she paid Rs.10 for only 5 puchkas asked as to why these mouth watering puchkas that leave the consumers with a burning sensation in stomach and tears in eyes are priced so high, a puchka seller near marina beach said that all the ingredients required for the preparation of these eatables have gone two high to restrict the price of the end product at the old price.

"Just have a look at the prices of oil, flour, potatoes LPG etc then you will realize our difficulty", he said with an average total sale put at Rs1000, each puchka sellers earns a net profit of Rs.500 each day, earning a monthly income of Rs10,000-15,000. As for the sanitation and hygiene, the panipuri sellers find this something alien. Raw water is used to prepare the heady brew and unclean hands used to dip puchkas and serve the customers no wonder the cases of food poisoning and gastroenteritis have increased substantially in the recent days. It becomes all the more worse during the rainy season. Try to prepare these at home, the medics would prescribed.
