Chennai, 15/March/2017
 The ever increasing prices of the humble pani-puris, Golgappas or puchkas have started punching a   big hole in the pockets of the lovers of tangy fast food. The panipuri that used to cost 50paise per piece a few years ago has witnessed a steady December upward to 75 paise to regin supreme at Rs 1.50per piece at present. Some of the puchka sellers who have mushroomed not only all over the city of Chennai but also it some place, Charge even higher price of Rs.2 per piece. An unsatisfied 19yr old girl told that she paid Rs.10 for only 5 puchkas asked as to why these mouth watering puchkas that leave the consumers with a burning sensation in stomach and tears in eyes are priced so high, a puchka seller near marina beach said that all the ingredients required for the preparation of these eatables have gone two high to restrict the price of the end product at the old price.

Hardwork behind one plate of food

I had a pleasure of visiting a small village called Silluvaipuram in the district of Chidambaram through the outreach program in my college. A whole of one weeks stay in the place opened my eyes to various thing I still carry with me is the amount of work that goes behind every plate of food we eat today. The lives of those who provide us the life giving food is indeed, pathetic not only their lives but the state of farming is also very drastic indeed people have turned to chemicals instead of natural resources in order to get more yield so in turn they can earn much. This has reduced the quality of the soil very  much. The people indeed cannot be blamed because they are under so much debt that had to be paid off. They depend on the produce year and year again to breath the next easily. Their situation is so sad that they do not even have a handful of their produce to have for themselves. It is depressing and sad to see such hardworking people suffer yet do not get to enjoy even a small of their sacrifice. The big question remains though who is to blame, the rise in food prices, loss of fertile lands, loans or the infusion of the chemicals. Whatever it maybe it is high time we took the matter of farmers and farming seriously.

I too had a love story - Review

After being nagged on by my friend continuously to read this book I picked it up on before a tiresome journey from the first, this light heart tale had me captured. The author has done a good job indeed throwing the end right into our face. It also explains quirks of online dating of which only some have the fortune of finding the right ones. The narration is simple and nifty. The mixture of the Hindi language with the vocal language (English) sometimes is irritable for those who don't know Hindi. What is more enthralling about the story of Ravin and Kushi is that it can happen to anyone at any point of time. This perception of relating the story of yourself makes the end more painful you will remember them for their simplicity, the story, the emotions and most importantly Kushi. The love is genuine, heartfelt and its death is also sudden. Some love stories never die they say remain for generations loving a lot of hearts.
  This one is here to say Breaking from the cheesy, corny love stories that are always fed to us, this book is refreshing need. It teach one the most important lesson love keeps on breathing you carry it in your memories and it also hurts, as Ravin says;
"She died. I Survived because I die Everyday".
Even when the person is dead the love you had for them makes you live.

World War-II bomb found in field near Puttur

A young farmer, Kalyan Kumar of Kotha Timmapuram near Puttur town, was taken aback when he found a curious object emerging from the ground while he was tilling his land on Tuesday. Soon, a big gathering rushed to the spot, and a commotion gripped the village that bombs were planted in the ground.

The object turned out to be a bomb that was in vogue in the British Army during the World War-II.

Fearing that it would explode, the farmer buried the object in the ground, and informed the Puttur police, who rushed to the spot along with the bomb disposal squad.

Thorough observation of the grenade, and some markings on it led to information that it was an artillery explosive supplied to the British troops in the World War-II.

Going by the past records of the police and revenue wings, an Army base camp had existed in the

Surveillance troops used to guard the surroundings pitching tents on Nagari and Sadasiva Kona hills zone between Puttur and Nagari during the World War-II.. It was also found that a military personnel of the British period lived in Kotha Timmapuram village several decades ago.

Puttur Circle-Inspector T. Sainath and Sub-Inspector Hanumanthappa said apart from thoroughly scanning the fields at the village, the ground was also dug for explosive material.
